If you are supplying the
parts to be fitted on your computer (Hard Drive or Memory) of if you
want to take advantage of the 'Hard
Drive Data Transfer' service, please telephone us on 01322
515773 to arrange for an appointment for the work to be carried out on
your computer.
Please remember that if
you are requesting the 'Hard
Drive Data Transfer' service we will require your computer to be
with us by no later than 10:00am on the day the work is scheduled to be
carried out. We will also require your Windows 'Recovery Disks'
(as described on the 'Hard
Drive Data Transfer' page of the website).
For all other
installation work (i.e. where it is not possible to calculate the final
price using the list above) please submit a request via the 'Request
An Estimate' screen on the website.
For ALL work carried out
on LAPTOP COMPUTERS we will require your computers power
adaptor.
For ALL work carried out
on DESKTOP COMPUTERS we will require your power cable and
keyboard (we
do not require your monitor).
Please read the Terms
& Conditions below before authorising us to carry out any work.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please ensure that you
read through the terms and conditions before authorising us to carry out
any work on your computer.
1. PAYMENT - All
work must be paid for in FULL when you collect your repaired / upgraded
computer.
|
1a. |
The
only payment methods that we accept are CASH or PAYPAL
(for credit / debit card payments). Please be aware that
if you choose the PayPal option, the only payment cards that can
be accepted are: Visa, Mastercard, American
Express, Maestro, Switch, Solo, Visa
Delta or Electron. If you have any doubts as to
whether your card will be accepted for payment you must check
with us at the time you drop off your computer for repair /
upgrade. |
|
1b. |
If
your payment card is declined or is not one of the card types
listed above you will need to obtain CASH to pay off your
outstanding bill in full before your repaired / upgraded
computer will be returned to you. |
|
1c. |
We
DO NOT accept cheques for payment under any
circumstances. |
2. ESTIMATES - All
estimates fall into one of two categories:
|
2a. |
Parts
supplied by you: The
repair / upgrade 'estimation' price will be the full and final
amount to be paid. |
|
2b. |
Parts
supplied by us: If you have requested an estimate for us to
supply the parts to be fitted inside your computer, the initial
price that you will receive from us will be an 'ESTIMATE'
only. Once we have received your computer and confirmed
the correct part numbers to be ordered we will then be in a
position to provide a full and final amount to be paid. To
save time on the repair of your computer we will give you the
option when you drop off your computer of adding a 'buffer'
amount to the estimate. This means that if we provide you
with an estimate of £150.00 for the repair and you choose to
set a buffer of £25.00, you are then authorising us to carry
out work to a maximum value of £175.00 without the need to
obtain further authorisation from you. Similarly, if we
provide you with an estimate of £150.00 for repairs and you
choose NOT to set a buffer amount, if the final cost of the bill
were to be more than £150.00, we would then be required to
obtain further authorisation from you before ordering any spare
parts. Please note, if you do choose to set a buffer
amount, this does not necessarily mean that the final cost of
the work will be the 'Estimated Price' + 'Buffer Amount', the
buffer is there purely to provide us with a small amount of
flexibility on the total cost of the bill to allow us to order
the parts needed so we can return your computer back to you in
the shortest possible time. |
3. PARTS SUPPLIED
BY US.
|
3a. |
If
you require us to obtain the necessary parts to be installed in
your computer, we will require you to pay a £20.00 CASH
DEPOSIT at the time your computer is dropped off for repair
/ upgrade. The £20.00 CASH DEPOSIT will then either be deducted
from your final bill or returned to you in full if you
should choose not to proceed with the repair / upgrade of your
computer. Please note, once any parts have been ordered
for your computer, the £20.00 deposit will then become non-refundable.
Please ensure that you are happy with the estimate before
authorising us to carry out any work. |
4. WARRANTY -
Please note, the warranty of work carried out will fall into one of 2
categories:
|
4a. |
Parts
supplied by you: We will not be held liable in anyway
whatsoever in the event of a problem occurring with any parts
that have been installed that were supplied by you. It
will be up to you to pursue any forms of redress / reimbursement
with the supplier that you originally obtained the parts
from. Also please note, we cannot be held responsible for
problems arising from incompatible parts that were supplied by
you. |
|
4b. |
Parts
supplied by us: The warranty of any parts supplied and
fitted by us will be in the form of the warranty provided by our
chosen supplier. This could mean that if you have
requested us to install 2 different items in your computer, and
both parts came from two different suppliers, one part may have
a different warranty period to the other. For some items
installed by us we may offer you the option of purchasing an
extended warranty that will cover the installed parts for a
period of up to 12 months. We will advise you if this
option applies to your parts. |
5. SECURITY OF DATA
ON YOUR COMPUTER.
|
5a. |
We
recommend that if you have any 'sensitive or confidential'
data on your computer such as (but not limited to) bank
account details, pin numbers or credit card
numbers that you remove these before authorising us to carry
out any work on your equipment. We also recommend that you
carry out a full backup of any data on your computer. |
6. ADMINISTRATOR
PASSWORD.
|
6a. |
We
may (depending on the nature of the work due to be carried out)
require you to provide us with the User ID / Password of the
computer 'Administrator' account. For certain types of
work being carried out (e.g. Hard Drive Data Transfer) it may be
necessary to change the system settings on your computer.
We will make a note of the original settings and endeavour to
change these back once the repair / upgrade has been completed,
but on occasion it will not be possible for the necessary
changes to be carried out until the computer is back on it's
original network. If you request it, we will provide you
with a copy of your original configuration settings to assist
you with this task. |
