Our Cookie Policy
Following the implementation of the EU Privacy Policy which became law on the 26th of May 2012, we are obliged to provide all visitors with details of our 'Cookie Policy'.  We only use 1 type of cookie on this website.

The type of cookie that we use is called a 'Persistent Cookie' - while the name sounds quite alarming, it isn't a dangerous cookie.  You probably have lots of persistent cookies on your computer already, they are used by websites to store things like your login details (for example on facebook or twitter) or to control how a website appears to you on screen.  Our persistent cookie is used to stop the pop-up message that you may have seen when you first accessed this website from reappearing.  If you saw a pop-up message informing you that you can view our cookie policy on this page, that message will not appear again until either:

1. You empty your internet cookies folder.
2. You decide to block all cookies.
3. The cookie has automatically expired after 365 days.

From time to time we may have other messages appear on the main menu when you first access the website and they will be controlled by a cookie in a similar way to limit the amount of times the message appears on screen.

Our cookie files are safe and do not contain spyware.  They are not tracking cookies and we most certainly are not interested in knowing what websites you decide to visit after spending time on ours.  The cookie files that we use are there purely to make your LAPTOP-Fix.co.uk experience more enjoyable and more streamlined.

We are obliged to make you aware that you can choose to block cookies from our website, however if you do block our cookies, you will see a pop-up message informing you of our 'Cookie Policy' every time that you access the website.

  • If you would like to know more about internet cookies and what they are used for (both good and bad), search online for "What are internet cookies?"
  • If you would like to know how to block cookies on your computer, search online for "How do I block cookies on (browser name and version)?"

Third Party Cookies
We use third party advertising companies to serve banner advertisements when you visit our website.  These companies may use information (Which will NOT INCLUDE your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods or services of interest to you.  In order to do this, our advertising partners may place a cookie (a small text file) on your computer.  If you would like to opt our of receiving these cookie files on your computer, please search online for "how do I block cookies on (browser name and version)?".  Please remember that if you do choose to block internet cookies, your internet experience will be severely diminished and you will no longer be able to interact with websites such as twitter or facebook or do things like online banking or online shopping.

Privacy Policy
Please be assured that we understand how frustrating it can be when personal information that you have given to companies in good faith is sold on without your permission to other companies or organisations.  We have all been in the same situation where you suddenly start getting bombarded with emails or telephone calls.  I always feel like I am in a losing battle with spam and junk mail and because of this, I can give you a 100% guarantee that your personal information will not be forwarded or sold on to any third party company or organisation.

Your personal information will only be retained by us so that we can identify your job request while your work is being carried out or to identify your completed work in the future if you should need to contact us regarding any work previously carried out on your behalf.

If you do contract us to carry out a repair or upgrade on your computer, we will keep a record of the serial numbers and part numbers of any parts that we are contracted to install.  This is standard practice amongst most computer repair companies.

Obviously legal reasons will take priority over our privacy policy, therefore if we are requested by the Police or a Court of Law to release your personal information, then we will have no option but to comply with any legal requests.
